Disc Title Printer

Casio has done a cool kind of thing. They now have a line of three printers designed specifically for printing to CD media. The CW-50, CD-75, and CW-100 are all thermal printers. The CW-50 and CW-75 are 200dpi, the CW-100 is 300dpi. All can use any of black, blue, red, green, silver and gold ribbons. Each ribbon has a list price of $9.95 ($24.95 for three) and will do about 40 discs. The printers list for $79, $99, and $129.
The CW-75 is kind of unique, it has a keyboard like a label printer, so you can create CD labels without needing to use your computer. You can, of course, connect it to your computer. It then works just like the others. When connected, you can layout your labels and print in four quadrants of the disk. You can use any font on your computer as well as graphics.
Printers connect using USB and are sized like a chunky CD player. All in all, it looks like it’s way easier to use one of these than print and stick CD labels.
A quick search of Amazon.com shows the prices at $69.88, $89.88 and $103.99. They also have ribbons for $7.99 ($22.88 for the three pack).
Casio…if you’re listening…send me one to test and I’ll write more…
