JDI Technologies has this interesting little product called the Xternal Portable Office or XPO. As you can see in the picture, it’s small, even when compared to a thumb drive.
What does it do? Well, I’m glad you asked. It can operate as both a USB host and client. Meaning, you can connect it to your computer, or a flash drive, a camera, an MP3 player, whatever.
Using the display, you can then copy all files, or just specific files to the internal 2gb. You can then put those files onto a different USB device.
Where might you use this? Let’s say I took a picture of something for you and you want to put it on your flash drive…but, we’re at Denny’s and don’t have a computer with us. Out pops the XPO, I copy the file from my camera to internal memory, then to your flash drive.
JDI has also observed that there are a lot of variations on the standard USB connectors. They have created to accessory tip sets to help cover the vast collection of USB connectors in the market.
This is a rechargable device and comes with a zip case.
They don’t list pricing on their web site, I seem to recall the price to be about $129.
